What Makes Receding Gums Possible?
The soft tissues of the mouth that surround and support the teeth are referred to as a gums or the gingiva. Gums that are healthy fit snugly against the teeth. Receding gums or gum recession is a condition where in the gum lines pull away from the teeth. When receding gums occur, the root of the teeth becomes exposed to tooth decay and cavities and thus can create spaces or pockets between the gums and teeth can become pitfalls for harmful bacteria making teeth and gums sensitive to hot and cold substance because those spaces can become . Gum recession can be caused by numerous factors and this includes, harsh brushing, mouth injuries, oral piercing, smoking, crooked teeth and gum disease.
