The treatment is designed to prevent the formation of new lesions and help heal old injuries. The local drug / topics that dry fat and / or promoting the peeling of the skin, usually contain benzoic peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid or retinoic acid. If the lesions become infected can prescribe antibiotics such as tetracycline or erythromycin. It was also used topical antibiotics (applied directly in the affected area of the skin) such as erythromycin to control the infection. Oral tetracycline is not indicated in children, until they have all their permanent teeth, because it can discolor teeth that are still being formed.
