Help Reshape New, Healthy Bones And Gums With Periodontal Surgery

An ordinary dental cleaning is not truly enough to cease the progress of infection in the gums once the disease has already destroyed the gums and bones around the teeth. It is in this state that a procedure called periodontal scaling becomes necessary which is a more extensive and time-consuming in comparison to routine cleaning as it is effective in removing dental plaque and tartar causing the infection below the gumline. Another procedure that smoothen the surface of the root is called as root planing, allowing gum tissue to heal and to reattach to the tooth. But when deep periodontal pockets of infection still persists after periodontal scaling, periodontal surgery or other treatments may be required. To be able to correct the defects, surgical treatments are appropriate to help reshape or regenerate new, healthy bones and gums.
